Morphs with documented health risks
This is the part of the subject most morph guides leave out. The great majority of morphs are cosmetic and carry no health consequence at all. These are the exceptions, and they are worth knowing before you buy rather than after.

Where people disagree
Whether Lemon Frost should still be bred.
The mapping is not in dispute: the colour trait and a high incidence of iridophoroma track to the same locus, and the strongest candidate gene there is a tumour suppressor implicated in human melanoma. The precise molecular mechanism is inferred rather than proven. What people disagree on is what follows. Some argue the line should be retired; others continue to produce it, noting that not every individual develops visible tumours. A buyer should at least know the finding exists before paying a premium for the morph.
How common Enigma Syndrome is within the Enigma morph.
Reports range from nearly all Enigmas showing some sign to a minority being visibly affected. Unlike Lemon Frost, there is no comparable published genetic study to settle it, so the honest answer is that prevalence is uncertain and based on keeper reporting. Assume the risk is real when deciding whether to buy.
What most morph guides get wrong
One gene produces both the colour and the cancer.
This is the single most important thing to know about leopard gecko morphs, and it is absent from most morph guides. In Lemon Frost geckos the white colouring people pay a premium for and the iridophoroma they develop track to the same locus, whose strongest candidate gene is the tumour suppressor SPINT1. Because they map together, you cannot select for the appearance and away from the tumour risk.
Enigma Syndrome is not an illness you can treat out of the animal.
Keepers who see head tilting or circling in an Enigma often pursue a parasite or vitamin diagnosis first. Those are worth ruling out with a vet, because the signs overlap. But where the cause is the Enigma gene, there is no cure; the management is reducing stress, simplifying the enclosure, and assisting with feeding if coordination is affected.
Most morphs are genuinely just colour.
